LIVERPOOL – This is October, and the staff at the Liverpool Public Library have put together a comprehensive and tailored program of events for the fall.

The LPL is partnering with Help Me Grow Onondaga for the new parenting program, Books, Balls and Blocks. Meet on Saturday, October 2 at 10 a.m. in the Carman Community Hall to learn more about the five stages of childhood development and discover low-cost activities you can share with your children at home. Registration is required on the calendar page of our website.

This isn’t the only new program designed for families and children for October. Sensory bins for toddlers explore textures, shapes and colors with children 18 months to 3 years old, at 10 a.m. every Wednesday of the month in the Carman Community Hall. Meet Edison offers 8-12 year olds the chance to craft with our new Edison Robots technology, as little robots react to light, sound and obstacles. Meet Edison will take place at 10:30 am on Monday October 11 at Studio @LPL. Money as You Grow teaches parents and caregivers how to mark children’s financial milestones at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 23, in the Carman Community Hall. Registration is required for these programs.

There are a couple of new programs for teens. The Teen LGBTQIA + Club invites teens to meet for National Coming Out Day to celebrate who they are together, at 6 p.m. on Monday, October 11, at Studio @ LPL. The Teen Book Club will meet at 6 p.m. on Thursday, October 21 at Studio @ LPL. Teens can read the book of their choice, talk about their choices, and share suggestions with others. Registration is compulsory for the book club.

The annual flu clinic with Wegmans is coming back inside after last year’s driving experience in our underground garage. Workers will be ready to administer the injections from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday, October 11 in the Carman Community Hall. Most insurance plans are accepted; bring your card and they will do the work for you at the clinic. Otherwise, the price is $ 39.99. Register on the calendar page of our website at LPL.org/events.

“The Art Forger” will bring together fans of BA Shapiro’s eponymous book and “This Is Robbery” on Netflix to discuss the mysterious caper at the Isabela Steward Gardner Museum in 1990. There will also be a virtual tour of the museum during the event , at 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 21, in the Carman Community Hall. Please register to attend.

For programs requiring registration, please visit the calendar page of our website at lpl.org/events/programs-and-events/events-calendar/. You will also find other big events in October on this page.
