A Worcester Library card now gives customers access to over 15 million songs to stream.

The Worcester Public Library on Tuesday announced a new music streaming service, Freegal, which members can now access.

Freegal Music is a free digital music service that gives anyone with a Worcester library card access to over 15 million songs from over 200 different genres, including Sony Music’s artist catalogue.

The collection also includes music videos and audiobooks. Streaming is unlimited and members can upload up to three songs per week.

Users can create and save playlists and share them with others. Freegal Music can be accessed via computer or mobile device.

Members can access the service using their library card and PIN.

“Compared to other free music streaming services, Freegal offers more songs for all ages without any ads,” said public service coordinator Pingsheng Chen. “Plus, library users can download three songs per week to a device of their choice, so they can still listen to their favorite songs when there’s no internet connection.”

For more information about Freegal Music, members may contact Linnea Sheldon, Community Relations and Communications Manager, at 508-799-1654 or [email protected]
