Help us prepare for our 175th anniversary
Founded in 1848, the Wayland Free Public Library is one of the oldest public libraries in the United States. To commemorate our 175th anniversary in March 2023, we are working with three Brandeis Ph.D. students to investigate our history. We will present our findings through an interactive website, a printed brochure and an in-person celebration at the library. We are looking for library patrons to participate in a discussion group for the WFPL anniversary event. We would like to know what customers think of WFPL as a community space so that we can bring our story into the 21st century. The discussion group will meet in the Raytheon Room and on Zoom, and is open to anyone interested in joining. Register here. Wednesday August 3 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

New way to learn a language
The library now offers a great new learning tool called Transparent Language Online. It provides an effective and engaging experience for language learners looking to expand their vocabulary, practice their listening, speaking, reading and writing skills, and sustain what they learn. With additional lessons and resources in over 110 languages (including English), Online transparent language can be accessed anytime, anywhere, on almost any device. Look for it under Online resources menu on our homepage.
