The AMF launches a public consultation on the group insurance offered to members of student associations

MONTREAL, June 15, 2022 /CNW Telbec/ – The Autorité des marchés financiers (“AMF”) today announced the start of its public consultation on supplementary health insurance offered to members of college and university student associations. The AMF has published a consultation paper in order to collect comments and proposals concerning the following fundamental objectives:
- Maintain to access insurance products for student customers
- make sure adequate protection students as consumers of insurance products.
The AMF is undertaking this consultation in order to allow all stakeholders (eg students, parents, student associations, educational institutions, insurers and registered firms) to express themselves on the subject. The consultation will last until October 17, 2022 give all interested parties time to prepare their written submissions or letters of comment or complete the online form quiz.
At the end of the consultation exercise, the AMF will prepare a report for the Minister of Finance which it will publish on the AMF’s website. Comments received from stakeholders, including responses submitted via the questionnaire, will also be made public, unless otherwise specified.
The Autorité des marchés financiers is the regulatory and supervisory body for the Québec financial sector.
