Public consultation on plans for new accommodation at a campervan company site in Whitecraig
PROJECTS for new accommodation on the site of a motorhome company will be put out for public consultation.
Aberdeen-based First Endeavor has submitted a Notice of Nomination Proposal (PAN) to East Lothian Housing Council at the Roseisle site in Whitecraig.
The notice includes plans for an online public event to be held early next month.
No details on the number of houses or type of properties planned for the site have been made public.
The application address at 34 Whitecraig Road is opposite land which has been identified in East Lothian Council’s Local Development Plan (LDP) for up to 200 houses.
A council spokesperson said the NAP referred to a residential development without reference to the size of the site or the number of properties.
They added that the local authority had agreed to the applicant holding an “online” public consultation on March 2, between 4 and 7 p.m., which will be made public beforehand.
Whitecraig Primary School, which has 130 pupils, is to be replaced by a new, larger facility in the next few years, with plans to demolish the current building on Whitecraig Avenue.
The new school is included in £46m funding for a new secondary school in neighboring Wallyford and is due to open in April 2024.
