Public consultation on Leith apartment building plans

Edinburgh homebuilder Cruden Homes is due to hold a consultation on its proposals to build a new housing estate in Leith.
Located on the Edinburgh Carpet and Flooring Warehouse site, on the corner of Salamander Street and Salamander Yards, the proposed unit is expected to comprise 99 apartments.
Comprising a range of apartments of varying sizes, the development will span from four to six floors, with retail on the ground floor overlooking Salamander Street.
An online community consultation event on April 28 aims to allow the community to provide feedback on the current plans.
This follows local engagement with key stakeholders.
Rory Stephens, Senior Director of Lands and Development at Cruden Homes, said: “This ambitious project regenerates the current brownfield, providing much needed sustainable housing, including affordable homes, as well as ground floor commercial supply. pavement.
“We look forward to hearing the views of the community, which will allow us to further shape and refine our proposals for the site, and we urge those in a position to do so to participate.”
