NHS Lanarkshire launches public consultation for replacement of Monklands University Hospital
A LOCAL community is invited to participate in a public consultation for a replacement hospital.
The consultation has been launched as part of the planning process for NHS Lanarkshire’s proposals for the replacement of Monklands University Hospital at Wester Moffat Farm in Airdrie.
It will take place from Wednesday March 2 to Tuesday March 29.
A dedicated website will host two live and interactive public consultations on Thursday March 17 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday March 19 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
There will also be a “chat box” feature to ask questions of Monklands Replacement Project (MRP) members.
MRP director Graeme Reid said: “We intend to apply for planning permission from North Lanarkshire Council later this year.
“Undertaking this public consultation before the submission of the planning application provides a fantastic opportunity to hear the views of stakeholders – the public, including those who live close to the site, NHS Lanarkshire staff and partnerships from health and social care, and any other members of the community who wish to comment on the proposals.
“Stakeholder feedback has been crucial to the project so far and we hope anyone with specific questions about our plans can join us at one of the online events for a live chat.”
