Lauren Appell: COVID has exposed public education cartel and teachers, school boards, unions can’t handle it

A coordinated effort by the far left and their media accomplices is in full swing as they scramble to paint the narrative that parents’ concern about public education is a fairy tale fabricated by activists, conspirators and crazy right-wing extremists.

The elephant in the room is that it was COVID that opened the eyes of parents, exposing the corrupt teacher union / educrat monopoly that plagues public education. I call it the “education cartel”. It is made up of teachers, union activists, administrators, school boards and their cohorts in the liberal media.

The education cartel has flown largely under the radar ahead of COVID and it has been caught off guard. Sunlight is truly the best disinfectant and the pandemic has exposed these ringleaders operating under the veil of “educating” our children as nothing more than a bunch of bullies. Their template is in place.

No better example of this can be found than in the counties of Fairfax and Loudoun in Northern Virginia, where the Liberals outnumber the Conservatives and, until recently, most people could not name a single member of the their school board. Now board members are household names.

LOUDOUN COUNTY COMMUNITY MEMBER SPEAKS AFTER BEING ARRESTED DURING SCHOOL BOARD MEETING

As COVID turned normal life upside down, parents received their own education and one by one the shoes fell off.

Shoe 1: The unions clash, opposing the reopening of schools. Their power and influence had been established for so long that they thought they were invincible and never imagined they were exaggerating their hand.

The more they insisted on preventing children from going to school, the angrier the parents were and the more the spotlight shone on what their children were learning.

Shoe 2: Critical breed theory. Parents were educated on indoctrination of their children with radical concepts that had infiltrated school curricula. Courtesy of the Zoom class, they saw teachers inject a racial divide into their lesson plans.

Shoe 3: Gender policies and First Amendment rights. The increasingly crowded school board meetings turned into a media circus, and when a teacher from Loudoun County Public School (LCPS) gave his opinion on a controversial transgender policy proposal, the school board woke up and hung it up.

Even after being overwhelmed by parental support for the teacher, Tanner Cross, the LCPS announced that it was appealing a court order requiring them to return his work to him.

Rather than calling a truce with the parents, the advice doubles. Parents can go stick it.

LOUDOUN COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD OF VIRGINIA SILENCE PUBLIC COMMENTS AFTER RAISED MEETING, 2 MEN ARRESTED

Now enlightened, parents (who in many cases pay substantial sums in property taxes) are now holding school board meetings across the country to push back harsh excesses by tyrannical school boards and power-drunk teacher unions. . But instead of answers, compassion or respectful dialogue, they cut the microphone.

While it is absolutely arrogant, condescending, obnoxious – insert a number of adjectives – that they treat parents like second-class citizens, with all the discrimination they complain about, these education cartels l ‘have done with the education of our children. “for years. They’ve just been exposed thanks to COVID.

Their reaction is typical of political activists, not civil servants. Instead of working with the parents they are supposed to serve, they have launched a political smear campaign against those same parents.

JD VANCE: ADVERSARIES OF CRITICAL RACE THEORY WIN THE ARGUMENT

In Loudoun County, they created a Facebook group targeting parents who dare to disagree with the education cartel, including on issues like the CRT. Group members created a list of names, addresses, employers, etc. of parents who don’t respect the line.

Patti Hidalgo Menders, a relative from Loudoun County, was one of those targeted. “They put three pictures of me in there, and they called me a racist. They had my first and last name, my husband’s name, where my son goes to high school, in what city I live, and they called me disgusting, “she said.

Among those targeting in this group: LCPS staff – such as taxpayer-funded government employees – school board members and a Loudoun County prosecutor whose salary is also paid by these parents.

Maybe the next time we come back to bullying in schools, we should come back to responsible adults.

The education cartel is imploding and they need a better PR strategy because attacking parents doesn’t work. Nevertheless, they persist.

Their reinforcing cavalry are working overtime. Virginia Democratic state delegate Marcus Simon has chosen the path of white supremacy, saying many parents advocating for open schools are is part of the KKK.

Referring to a large group of parents in Fairfax County who have organized and tirelessly advocated for the opening of schools, he said: “We know who is an ally of this movement … I am not saying that everyone who supports Open FCPS is a member of the KKK, but when the KKK is on your side, you have to rethink your priorities. ”

If you want your children to have a respectable education in the classroom, you are a racist. You almost can’t make this stuff up.

Terry McAuliffe, the Democratic candidate for governor of Virginia, arrogantly brushed aside the concerns of thousands of parents storming Virginia school board meetings, furious at the CRT indoctrination being pushed into their schools as not being than another “right-wing plot”. Read: stupid parents.

More Opinion

If McAuliffe wants to take a break from tallying his teachers’ union campaign money, he might be interested to know that many parents who are part of this so-called “right-wing conspiracy” are Democrats. It turns out that when it comes to CRT and indoctrination of our children, parents are politically color blind.

Children prevail over politics. All. Alone. Time.

These terrorist tactics are all part of their efforts to silence and silence parents. There is no tolerance for debate and dialogue.

Parents will not be intimidated, intimidated or silenced by the bullies who run our public education system. COVID has set off a giant spotlight on the education monopoly and it turns out it has very little to do with our children’s education.

Parents, now armed with facts on their side, are not leaving.
