Masks are recommended but not required for library staff and patrons. The library will continue to provide masks to visitors who need them.

Library fines, charges explained

Late payment fines will no longer accumulate on members’ accounts.

Administration fees for handling lost or damaged items will no longer be charged. Customers, however, are still responsible for lost or damaged items and replacement costs.

Video games available

The Garrett Public Library has a collection of video games which is now available for circulation to the public.

Games for PlayStation 4, XBox One and Nintendo Switch will be offered.

The collection includes games for all audiences, from ESRB rating E (for everyone) to M (for adults).

Customers can watch five games at a time for periods of one week.

Small free library

Thanks to a generous donation from Garrett’s Church, the Garrett Public Library has a small free library.

The small free library is located near the west entrance. No library card is required. Visitors can pick up any books that interest them.

Lightly used books can be donated if space permits.

Garrett Public Library staff will periodically update and restock the small free library.

Please note that this is not the drop box for returning library materials. The library deposit box is located further south in the parking lot and is silver.
