The Friends of South Pasadena Public Library is seeking community members to serve on the Board of Trustees in 2022.
The mission of the 71-year-old nonprofit is to raise awareness and raise funds for the municipal library. To do this, the group operates a completely voluntary bookstore that sells donated books and other materials. Over the past year, he has also hosted two dollar book sales and will sponsor a holiday book sale on December 3-4. The organization also offers an annual concert series through its Catering Concert Committee.
The board of directors is made up of 13 positions. In addition to the positions of President, Vice President, Secretary and CFO, there are more positions for Operations, Membership, Fundraising, Communications, Outreach and Endowment. Three positions exist for the Bookstore and the Restoration Concert Series.
The board currently meets on the third Thursday of each month at 1 p.m., but discussions are underway to change or change meeting dates and times.
The board is looking for people available to attend meetings and carry out projects. Experience in non-profit organizations, libraries, business operations, fundraising, finance, communications, social media, endowments, management, donor systems, writing, site development Web, event planning or related fields is desirable.
