EDINBURGH-based homebuilder Cruden Homes will host a digital consultation event on their exciting proposals to provide much-needed accommodation in Leith.

Located on the site of the Edinburgh Carpet and Flooring Warehouse, on the corner of Salamander Street and Salamander Yards, the proposed development will aim to comprise 99 apartments.

Including a range of apartments of different sizes, the development will span from four to six floors, with the added bonus of ground floor retail overlooking Salamander Street.

An online community consultation event, in line with the Scottish Government’s Covid guidelines, will allow the community to provide feedback on and shape the proposals.

This online public comment event, where the development team will be available via a live chat facility to answer any questions, will take place on Thursday 28and April from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. www.orbitconsultations.scot/salamanderstreet

Further information relating to the proposed development may be obtained at the above website or, if unable to view the material online, by contacting:

Address: Salamander Street Consultation, c/o Orbit Communications, 4 Queen Street, Edinburgh EH2 1JE. Tel: 0131 202 3259

The event follows extensive local engagement with key stakeholders.

Commenting on the proposals, Rory Stephens of Cruden Homes said:

“We are delighted to present these exciting proposals for consultation with the local community. This ambitious program regenerates the current brownfield site, providing much needed sustainable housing, including affordable housing, as well as commercial supply on the ground floor.

“We look forward to hearing the views of the community, which will allow us to further shape and refine our proposals for the site, and we urge those in a position to do so to participate.”
