GROVELAND — The City of Groveland and Langley-Adams Public Library Director Darcy Lepore are pleased to share a full range of programs for children, teens and adults throughout December and the holiday season.

“Whether you’re all grown up and interested in the story behind a classic Christmas movie, a teenager who loves hot chocolate and books, or a parent whose kids would love a LEGO building club or a chance to make a magic wand during Sparkle Story Time, we have something for you and your family this holiday season,” Director Lepore said, “I hope the whole community checks out our books and programming.”

Adult programs

MMonday, December 13 at 7 p.m. – It’s a Wonderful Life: 75 Years with George Bailey

A holiday special focusing on the Christmas classic It’s a Wonderful Life. Hosted by Frank Mandosa, there will be fun facts, behind-the-scenes info, trivia, music videos and prizes.

“We all know the classic 1946 film that celebrates life and its true meaning. Just in time for the 75th anniversary of its initial release, this behind-the-scenes look at the history, production and lasting cultural impact of the perennial holiday favorite will leave you feeling sentimental all over again,” Mandosa said.

Monday, December 20, at 7 p.m. – The origin of Christmas and its emergence over time

Since 2007, Sean has taught classes at the Irish Cultural Center of New England, Cape Cod Sons of Erin, Cape Cod Cultural Center, Cotuit Center for the Arts, and venues in Nantucket.

Just in time for the holidays, Murphy produced a presentation on the origin of Christmas and its emergence over time into the annual event we know today.
