Airdrie Public Library to Launch Annual Fundraiser

From November 29 to December 30, the Airdrie Public Library is hosting its annual Adopt-A-Book program.
Kelly Kirkpatrick-Lauzon is the director of operations for the Airdrie public library as well as the director responsible for the Adopt-A-Book program.
“This campaign helps the library build our collection, not just for now but for the future of our community.”
By collection, Kirkpatrick-Lauzon refers to everything inside the library, such as books and materials.
“Basically what people do is come to the library or go online to our website. Anyone can adopt online or in person by choosing from a wide selection of books. They can adopt a book in your name or in the name of someone they choose.
Kirkpatrick-Lauzon continued, “It’s a wonderful way to support the library, a great stocking stuffer idea, a Christmas present for family or friends, maybe even a teacher or others in your area. life who are also library lovers. ”
But what does “Adopt-A-Book” really mean?
“The books we would choose for the library, we put them into the Adopt-A-book program. We post them and customers can browse through all the different titles that are on display. They’ll have a price tag and then someone can take that book, either by buying it online or from our lending office, and adopting it. “
You will get a nameplate inside the book with your name or whatever name you have chosen.
Proceeds from adopted books return to the library and its programs.
